Golborne Parkside U11’s took part in the rugby festival in scarborough over the weekend 8th and 9th May. On both days the team played 3 games 7mins each way, 9 a-side and no kicks.
The team can take a lot out of the weekend, a lot of positives which the team can build on and also a few things that the lads can learn from and providing they do, the team will continue to grow and improve in the way they have in the last 2 seasons.

A very tight game today between two evenly matched teams, with Golborne trying to take revenge for a tough to take defeat at crossfields early in the season
Alas a draw was to be the result, much to the frustration of both teams.

Golborne made the short trip to Wigan St Pats to play the Cougars and enjoyed a much improved performance from last week, which saw them control things for the majority of the game.

They say that the sign of a good team is winning games when you play badly. Well for some reason the dedicated, fast defence and good ball handling and teamwork were notable by their absence today, but Golborne still manage to come away with the spoils in a game where passions were on the point of boiling over on a few occasions.

Due to the Executive Media Manager being on holiday yet again, a match report will follow shortly (when one of the kids puts pen to paper, may be waiting a while school hols means electronic games, food, playing outside with mates sleeeping but don't forget to come to training.Remember we're learning "The Kiwi Way")

After three months kicking their heels die to the bad weather, Parkside needed this game to blow the cobwebs away and despite a below parr performance they managed to make the trip worthwile getting a win under their belts. |
